Another president ignores Armenian genocide
It was with disappointment that I read Calvin Woodward's article on Barack Obama's new and expected stance on the Armenian Genocide.
He refuses to use the word genocide for the death of 1.5 million people in 1915 at the hands of the Turkish government. By doing so he follows the lead of all his predecessors in the Oval Office, walking on egg shells not to offend our important ally, Turkey.
It's interesting that the promises he made to Armenian Americans in this country, who voted for him, are no longer important.
I also take issue with the Daily Herald staff on the placement or burial of this huge article titled "Obama backtracks on Armenia", in the business section by the weather where a lot of people would have missed it.
