Statement from victim's family

Statement of Becky Klein's family, as read by her father Jeff, after a guilty verdict in the 32-year-old Villa Park woman's March 2007 murder:

"Almost 25 months ago, our family was struck by a tragedy that will continue to impact us for the rest of our lives. Although we are not happy to be here in this position today, we are relieved that this part of the process has concluded.

"We want to thank the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office. Not only has that office shown continued professionalism and pride in their work, but it also has exhibited a tremendous level of compassion. Specifically, we would like to acknowledge the efforts of Joe Ruggiero, Tim Diamond and the criminal prosecution bureau's victim services unit.

"We wish to acknowledge the support of many, many family members and friends. That support has truly allowed us to concentrate on the important things in life. Becky will continue to be part of our lives and her memory will flourish in our hearts and souls. Thank you."
