St. Peter kids celebrate Earth Day

Students at St. Peter School in Geneva celebrated Earth Week and the students wanted to learn how they could make the Earth more beautiful.

The day included a waste-free lunch as each child was asked to not bring their lunch in anything that would be thrown away such as wrappers or plastic Baggies. After lunch, students went to learn about the planet Earth by watching the new movie, "Earth" at the Randall Theater.

While the students were at the movies each classroom made sure that the lights were turned off in the classroom for approximately 21/2 hours.

More importantly, the kids were excited to go see the movie because for every ticket purchased this week, Disney planted a tree.

St. Peter School serves more than 500 students in preschool through eighth grade. For information, call Principal Roseann Feldman at (630) 232-0476 or visit www.stpeterrockets.org.
