Barrington High student in court on rape case

Bruce Arthur Johnston, the 18-year-old Barrington High School student charged with sexual assault against two girls, one 14 and one 17, appeared in McHenry County court Tuesday and was given his next court date of May 20. Authorities said both alleged assaults occurred at separate times at the same house in Barrington Hills. Johnston's attorney, Robert Hanaford, has said that both incidents were consensual, though the 17-year-old girl reportedly claims otherwise and the 14-year-old girl is too young to give legal consent.
