Barrington grad Marshall starring in TCU closer role
One of the biggest starts of Eric Marshall's baseball career ended with a supersectional no-hitter and led to a third-place finish in the Class AA state tournament for Barrington.
Marshall is now closing games for Texas Christian University, which is ranked 15th in the country. And one of the games he finished this year was a no-hitter against Texas-Pan American in April.
Marshall is 1-2 with 6 saves and a 1.23 ERA in 17 appearances. The right-hander has 15 strikeouts and only 3 walks in 22 innings.
Marshall was also named The Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Week recently with 3 saves in as many appearances. He was also named the West region national player of the week by College Baseball Insider.
Not bad considering Marshall had elbow surgery in mid-November and was limited to 1 appearance in 2007 because of an elbow injury.

Kosmicki led the Spartans to a 5-1 week and their first appearance in the NAC baseball tournament, in the third season of the league. He hit .625 with 3 homers, 7 RBI and 11 runs, was hit by 4 pitches and stole 2 bases.
Kosmicki is hitting a team-high .411 with 10 doubles, 5 homers, 33 RBI, 29 runs, 14 walks, 11 hit by pitches, a .674 slugging percentage, .525 on base percentage and 10 stolen bases.
