An open letter to John Rossi

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for the really outstanding job you have done for the past four years as supervisor of Grafton Township.

From the first day, you wasted no time in rolling up your sleeves and worked hard to bring the office up to the 21st century. You organized and computerized your files and records and applied for and received grants to pay for improvements. You made the township far more efficient and user friendly. You saw to it the services that were needed were added and expanded, that all the purchases were done economically and paid for in a timely manner.

I know many seniors whose lifestyles have improved by being able to use the senior bus, and it goes without saying that sponsorship of the Grafton Pantry has been a godsend for many unfortunates in this traumatic economic environment.

You have opened doors of communication and cooperation with other governmental bodies to the benefit of all, and you have encouraged participation by the whole community. You have achieved all this without any increase in taxes nor or any anticipated for the future.

You have always been a people person and put the welfare of the taxpayers first. Your leadership and vision will be sorely missed.
