No suspension for Rondo for foul against Miller

The NBA will not take any action on Rajon Rondo's late foul against Brad Miller in Game 5. The Bulls argued that it should have been ruled a flagrant foul.

Wednesday's decision was no surprise, though, because changing the foul to flagrant after the game is over would be pointless and Rondo didn't do anything to merit a suspension.

The Bulls trailed by 2 points with 3.4 seconds left in overtime. Miller set a screen for Ben Gordon, caught the inbounds pass and had a wide open path to the basket after both Rondo and Boston center Kendrick Perkins chased Gordon.

Before Miller got to the basket, Rondo reached out and smacked him in the mouth, opening a cut on his upper lip that later required stitches. Officials ruled it a common foul, Miller missed both free throws with two seconds left and Boston hung on for a 106-104 victory.

Orlando's Dwight Howard was suspended for tonight's Game 6 at Philadelphia for hitting Sixers center Sam Dalembert with an elbow Tuesday.

Bulls try to bounce back: Shortly after Tuesday's frustrating overtime loss in Boston was over, the Bulls were looking forward to Game 6 at the United Center.

"We've still got confidence that we can go home and get a win and bring it back to Boston," forward John Salmons said.

"It's been a crazy series to play in. I can only imagine watching it with all these overtimes," added Brad Miller. "It could be over by now by either team, really."

This is already the first series in NBA history to include three overtime games, while four of the five contests were decided by 3 points or less.

"It's one of those things maybe when you look back on it, you'll realize how good a series it's been," Kirk Hinrich said. "Right now we're just caught in the moment trying to win. We have to be mentally tough and do whatever we can to get the job done."

Looking ahead: If a Game 7 is necessary on Saturday in Boston, it will start at 7:30 p.m. if the only other game that night is Orlando-Philadelphia, or at 7 p.m. in all other scenarios. The game will be televised by TNT. ... Regardless of what happens in Game 6, the Bulls or Celtics will play Game 1 in the second round Monday. ... Tickets for tonight's Game 6 at the United Center are labeled, "Round 1, Home Game C."
