Bravo launching 'Runway' foe 'The Fashion Show'

The Independent Film Channel's "Media Project" alternative newsmagazine returns for its second season at 10 p.m. Sunday, May 3. Later in the week, Bravo kisses off "Project Runway" to Lifetime and responds with the Isaac Mizrahi-designed knockoff competition series "The Fashion Show," debuting at 9 p.m. Thursday, May 7.

OddParents get Kissed

The Nickelodeon series "The Fairly OddParents" premieres a three-part movie called "Wishology" at 7 p.m. Friday, May 1. Kiss rockers Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are among the guest voices as the cartoon lampoons action blockbusters like "The Matrix."

Still more Jonas

The Jonas Brothers continue their move toward total media domination and saturation with a new series, aptly titled "Jonas," debuting at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 2, on the Disney Channel. Think "The Monkees" for the preteen set.

Monkey business

After it was a classic of stop-motion animation, and before it was remade as a computer-animated action film, "King Kong" was turned into just another trashy '70s disaster movie. An unknown Jessica Lange played the beauty in the Fay Wray role, and it took her years (and "Tootsie") to put her career back on track after appearing in this flop. It's at 10:30 p.m. Friday on AMC.
