Lifelong Republican agrees with Obama
Mr. Obama promised that his tax policy would affect the working class. I wholeheartedly agree and will be one of the people that helps him keep his word when he raises my taxes. To compensate for my increased taxes, I am implementing a new plan. Instead of using a lawn service, I will buy a riding lawn mower and plant flowers from free seeds available from the federal government. In the winter, the riding lawn mower can be equipped with a blade to plow my driveway.
Instead of going to the salon every eight weeks for a haircut, I will go every twelve weeks. I am fully capable of doing my own manicures and pedicures. Regrettably, I will substitute bulk warehouse meat for my wonderful, local butcher shop. It will require a little more effort to tenderize but, brining is the newest culinary trend. Instead of shopping for apparel, I will shop in my closet. Dining out will again be a grand occasion saved for only truly special events.
My husband can relive his youth by washing our cars as we have a hose and a sponge while I get out the rubber gloves and clean the house. We really don't need the newspaper or magazine subscriptions. Magazines tempt you to shop and the news is on the Internet anyway. Our next vacation will be on our deck.
I read that the latest kit for the dryer can eliminate most dry cleaning needs. The charities we support will understand when we are forced to decrease or cease our giving to pay our taxes. We were promised "change you can believe in." The people affected by our forced cuts will believe that their lives have been changed.
