Libertyville teens hurt in crash expected to survive
Two Libertyville teenagers badly injured in a weekend car crash are expected to survive, police said Monday. The teens were identified as: Kevin Steinhauser, 17, of the 100 block of Adler Drive; and Timothy Sullivan, 16, of the 600 block of Sedgwick Drive.
They were hurt when their car struck a utility pole on Route 137 near Sunny View Road about 5:15 a.m. Sunday.
Both were thrown from the car by the impact and were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center. Authorities were not certain who was driving the car.
Police investigators planned to recreate the accident to try to determine what happened, Libertyville police Chief Patrick Carey said. No charges have been filed.
