Marines plan golf outing

The Fox Valley Marine Corps League is seeking sponsorships and registration for its annual golf outing at noon Aug. 5 at Tamarack Golf Course, 24032 Royal Worlington Drive, Naperville. Sponsorships are available from $100 for a hole sponsor to $1,000 for a presenting sponsor. Reservations for golf and dinner cost $95; dinner only is $50. Businesses receive grants

Naperville is awarding grants to fund improvement projects for 10 businesses along its Ogden Avenue corridor between Naper Boulevard and Washington Street, officials said. The businesses applied for the money through the city's Ogden Avenue Site Improvement Reimbursement Program. The matching grants, available May 1, are designed to help pay for signs, landscaping, facade work and access improvements. Properties receiving grants of less than $25,000 include: Ogden Mall, Country Squire Plaza, Ogden Deere, Bill's Car Wash, Two Left Feet Dance, Shepherd Group LLC, Ogden Professional Building, Iroquois Shopping Center, Twin Centers Property West and Twin Centers Property East. An application in excess of $25,000 was approved for parkway landscape improvements in front of the Ogden Mall.

College offers art display

The Elmhurst College Art Department will present its 41st annual Capstone Art Exhibition featuring the work of six student artists from May 2-31 at The ArtSpace in the 200 block of West Park Avenue, Elmhurst.
