Fire rallies for tie
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Brian McBride and Gonzalo Segares scored in the final four minutes to help the Chicago Fire salvage a 2-2 tie against the host Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer action on Saturday.
McBride pulled the Fire (2-0-4) within a goal in the 86th minute when the veteran striker scored on a header. Two minutes later, a left-footed strike from Segares evened the game and extended the Crew's record for a worst start by a defending MLS Cup champion at 0-2-4.
Chad Marshall and Jaime Moreno scored for Columbus, which was forced to play a man down after defender Gino Padula was shown a straight red card by referee Jair Marrufo for his contact with Fire midfielder Cuauhtemoc Blanco near midfield in the 57th minute.
