House health-care plan on the money

The health-care reform package that 76 members of the House have endorsed sounds like an excellent plan that would allow one to have all necessary treatments, including long-term care covered, without deductibles or co-pays. It would allow one to choose one's own doctor, and doctors could practice medicine instead of accounts receivable management. The public option for all citizens to choose, if they wished, would force private insurance companies to provide better service at lower cost. This type of plan is not "socialism," it is a public insurance plan, as is Medicare, as is the health care provided by the Veterans Affairs. It is practical, humane, and is real reform. It's what we desperately need.
