Vandals strike near Antioch

Vandals attacked cars and mailboxes near unincorporated Antioch Tuesday night. The Lake County Sheriff's office received at least 13 calls from residents reporting slashed tires and smashed windows in the 40000 block of Prairie Avenue, said Sgt. Christopher Thompson, who added the damage will likely exceed $5,000. A number of sheds were also broken into and items were taken. It's not clear exactly when the crimes happened - police say it may have been Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. The sheriff's office is asking people call (847) 377-4250 with information.
