Red-light cameras can be wrong
In response to a recent letter regarding the occasional injustice of red-light cameras, I couldn't agree more. I also was entrapped by this revenue generating scam. While driving in Chicago, traffic suddenly stopped and I had no choice but to apply my brakes in the middle of a camera shooting intersection. When I received the ticket in the mail, I paid it because I didn't want to risk a negative effect to my insurance rates.
Another grievance I have is that if you allow someone to drive your vehicle and that person is entrapped by a camera, the violation goes to you. How can a violation appear on your record when you're not even driving!
