IDOT personnel manager fired

SPRINGFIELD -- The Associated Press has learned that an Illinois Department of Transportation administrator who was among a dozen employees to receive hefty raises in the final weeks of the Blagojevich administration has been fired.

IDOT spokeswoman Paris Ervin says personnel manager Scott Doubet was fired Friday.

Ervin says the department is "moving in a different direction" under Gov. Pat Quinn.

She wouldn't say whether the action was related to an 8 percent raise Doubet got just weeks before now-indicted former Gov. Rod Blagojevich was removed from office.
