Buffalo Grove's IPA sued again

A Buffalo Grove company already facing an EEOC lawsuit alleging massive sexual harassment is in hot water now with Illinois' attorney general, this time for alleged fraud against its customers.

International Profit Associates is accused in a civil suit of promising customers amazing profit increases if they agree to sign consulting agreements. Instead, the suit claims, customers get large bills with little to no specialized or practical advice for their small to mid-sized businesses.

In one case, the suit alleged, the client was handed what appeared to be a boilerplate report of recommendations in which IPA forgot to take out a previous client's name throughout the report.

IPA is also the target of a large-scale lawsuit by the EEOC with at least 100 plaintiffs alleging sexual harassment at the company was rampant. The company denies the charges. A trial date has not yet been set.

Wednesday's suit asks for an order prohibiting the allegedly fraudulent business practices and seeks compensation for those who paid the company.

A message for an IPA spokesman was not immediately returned Wednesday afternoon.
