Vision Group: On Monday, April 20, WGN-TV sportscaster Rich King will speak about his book, "My Maggie," a story of courage, love, and the resiliency of the human spirit. King will discuss his book and his relationship with his childhood sweetheart and wife, Maggie, who met the challenges of Usher's Syndrome (vision and hearing loss) and battled cancer while maintaining her humor and passion for life. All are welcome to attend this free one-hour presentation at 10 a.m. Monday, April 20, at the Prairie Lodge, Drendel Ballroom Rooms A and B, at Sun City - Huntley. The event is sponsored by the Visually Impaired Support and Assistance Group.
Attendees need to call Nancy Turngren at the Wellness Center at (847) 515-2078 to reserve a place. King has appeared on the "Today Show" and the "Bonnie Hunt Show." King had been a sports broadcaster at WBBM and is now at Channel 9 WGN-TV.
These free meetings are from 10 to 11 a.m. the third Monday of the month at the Prairie Lodge Drendel Ballroom A, and presented by the Sun City Interest Group VISA (Visually Impaired Support and Assistance Group).
Many attendees or someone in their family have macular degeneration, diabetes, glaucoma, and other low vision issues. Through new information, mutual sharing, and problem solving members learn to cope with daily challenges, realize they are not alone, and learn practical solutions and resources to enhance their independence.

Polish American Club: At the Monday, April 20, meeting, the featured speaker will be Rev. Michael Barry. He will share some of his experiences at the Consulate in Cracow. His focus will be on the development of the Polish national anthem and other traditional, patriotic songs of Poland. Father Barry will provide an interesting history of these songs and how they relate to Polish history. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. at Meadow View Lodge. Prairie Singers: The Prairie Singers of Sun City Huntley will present their spring concert, "American Songbook," at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at Huntley High School Performing Arts Center. American composers, including George Gershwin and Stephen Sondheim, will be featured in show tunes, folk songs, and patriotic music. The Sun Tones also will perform, and members of the Sun City concert band will accompany the Prairie Singers. Tickets are available at Prairie Lodge and at the Huntley branches of Castle Bank, Citizen's Bank, and Harris Bank. Details are on the posters and monitors at both lodges, Channel 96, and the Web portal. The cost is $10 for adults and $3 for children ages 2 to 12.
Sun City Concert Band: On Thursday, May 14, the Sun City Concert Band will present "Movies and Musicals," a tribute to American musical entertainment at 7 p.m. in the Drendel Ballroon at the Prairie Lodge in Sun City. The program is designed to please the audience with a variety of musical renditions. Selections are sure to bring back memories of familiar tunes and shows. Concert tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children. On Friday, May 1, they will be sold from 8:30 a.m. until tickets are sold out.

Cribbage: On April 15, there was a tie for first place between Sue Chiodo and Chuck Zunker, both with perfect scores of 484. High individual hands were posted by Chiodo 24, 20; Carol Charpentier 24; Bill Macomber, Zunker 21; and Sandi Mis 21, 20. There were two skunks.
