Why use wisdom when slap gets attention

Both Jack Welch of GE and Warren Buffett delivered a message to the Obama administration about the fundamentals of a capitalistic economy. The words were very clear: quit screwing around with all the political promises and focus on the banking and economy.

You'd think that being taken to task by these old masters of business would have been enough. Ironically, it wasn't until China said in no uncertain terms that they expected to be paid back on their investment in the U.S. debt and without having the money weakened by inflating it through printing more that the message was received. Apparently a head slap by China is more attention getting than words of wisdom.

I have to say that was how it worked with my dad and I as well, so I guess some thing never change.
