Downstate man found fatally shot

CENTREVILLE -- Illinois State Police are investigating the shooting death of a man during a home invasion that left two other people beaten.

Authorities say 24-year-old Randy Moore of Alorton man was slain early Thursday after being shot once in the chest at an apartment complex.

St. Clair County Coroner Rick Stone says the bullet pierced Moore's heart.

Centreville Mayor Marius Jackson calls the violent death of a teenager a shame.
