Heritage Center a St. Charles treasure

I am a lifelong resident of St. Charles and when I look at the history of our town it makes me proud to say I am from here.

This year marks the 175th anniversary of our great city, and the St. Charles Heritage Center is inviting everyone to be a part of this special celebration. The Heritage Center is compiling a scrapbook which will commemorate each of the 175 years and will be on display continuously in the museum's exhibit hall. Individuals, families, businesses, and organizations can be a part of this unique and historic publication by sponsoring an individual year or years. The cost is $175 for the first sponsored year, $125 for the second and $75 for all additional years.

Birthdays, anniversaries, memorials, graduating classes, business startups, and the year a family moved to St. Charles are just some of the examples for sponsorship.

The Heritage Center staff will be researching each year and sponsors will be recognized on the page for the year they have chosen as well as receiving a certificate signed by the mayor and listing the year's notable events.

I would like to encourage all of you who live in the Tri-cities to visit the St. Charles Heritage Center and learn a little about the area you call home. The Heritage Center is filled with interesting artifacts and information about the people and places of St. Charles. There is so much to learn about the history of our town at the St. Charles Heritage Center. The center receives no direct tax support, so it relies on memberships and donations to the museum to sustain its operating budget. Please join me in supporting the St. Charles Heritage Center with this unique fundraiser.
