Police say Carpentersville man sexually assaulted two girls
A 38-year-old Carpentersville man was charged over the weekend with sexually assaulting two girls.
The allegations were reported to police investigating a battery complaint Thursday against Teodolfo Salcedo-Vazquez, of the 0-100 block of Hickory Drive, Cmdr. Michael Kilbourne said Monday.
"As a result of that, we received additional information and coordinated our investigation with the Kane County Child Advocacy Center," Kilbourne said.
Salcedo-Vazquez was charged Saturday with two counts each of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, as well as two misdemeanor counts of battery.
According to the charges, Salcedo-Vazquez molested and raped the girls April 10, 2007 - nearly two years ago to the day of his arrest. Police said both victims were younger than 18 at the time but would not provide exact ages. Police indicated he knew both girls.
Salcedo-Vazquez has no prior criminal history in Kane County, according to court records. The most serious charge against him is a Class 1 felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
Salcedo-Vazquez was being held in the county jail Monday with bond set at $505,000. He is due in court April 23.
