Red light cameras look like a scam

I read Ron Edhlund's letter about red light cameras. I just want to add, my wife made a right turn on Mannheim, where there is no sign that says, "No Right Turn on Red."

She got a ticket which was revoked afterward, but our auto insurance went up by $79.

Now, I got a ticket when I made a right turn on Dundee Road from Rand Road heading north in Palatine. Again, no sign that says,"No Right Turn." Now I have to fight a $100 ticket.

What a way to make money. The economy is tough, but to make money this way is really a scam. President Obama wants to cut outsourcing, but it is OK to buy red light cameras from Australia. I guess, politics!
