Chamber grateful for help with forum

The Buffalo Grove Area Chamber of Commerce would like to thank those who helped to make our Buffalo Grove candidates forum a great success. The chamber believes that it is important that the citizens of our village be informed about the issues and candidates before they vote.

First, thank you to Buffalo Grove High School for the use of their theater and their assistance with the event.

Second, a special thank you to the AP Government & Politics Class from BGHS taught by Zach Crandall, which partnered with the chamber for the event.

Third, thanks to the high school Media Class for taping the forum. It was a joy to see how involved and engaged the students were. They took the event seriously, coming up with questions for the candidates (of which two were presented by one of the students), timing the answers and helping with the tasks of the evening.

These are our future citizens and possibly candidates themselves some day. We applaud their eagerness to be part of the American election process.

Fourth, thanks to the candidates who took time out of their busy schedules to answer the questions posed by the students, the business community and the residents. The chamber looks forward to working with you.

Fifth, thanks to the residents of Buffalo Grove who came to the forum to support the candidates and to identify the candidates that the residents want to lead them for the next four years.

And finally, thank you to the staff of the village, the mayor and the current trustees along with certain staff at BGHS. With your extra efforts, we overcame the technical difficulties that threatened to derail the broadcast and allowed it to be seen and heard on the village channel the weekend before the election.

Marc Blumenthal, president
