2 dead in north central Ill. plane crash
SANDWICH -- The Federal Aviation Administration says two people have died in a plane crash in north central Illinois.
FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory says a 1946-era single-engine fixed aircraft went down in a field near the city of Sandwich at about 1:49 p.m. She says both people aboard were killed.
The FAA is participating in an investigation led by the National Transportation Safety Board. Authorities say the DeKalb County coroner and local emergency officials have responded to the scene.
