Voters give Round Lake Park referendum thumbs up
In Round Lake Park, a referendum question asking to borrow money for infrastructure improvements in the downtown area was approved by voters Tuesday.
With all 8 precincts reporting, unofficial vote totals show 593 people voted in favor of raising taxes to obtain $1.5 million in construction bonds to spruce up Main Street, while 466 voters said no.
The money is for public improvements, such as streetlights and sewer upgrades, along Route 134.
Due to other expiring loans, residents will see taxes fall by about $45 per year with the referendum approval.
