Morrison joins park board
Challenger Mary Morrison and incumbent Jonathan Duesing won four-year terms on the Hanover Park park board.
In unofficial tallies Tuesday night, Morrison had 1,273 votes and Duesing had 1,122 votes with all 22 precincts reporting. Morrison unseated incumbent Miguel Fuentez, a board member since 2003 who had 821 votes.
Morrison campaigned for more kids' programs that are convenient to single and working parents and said now-closed Rinne Pool should be replaced. She also advocates closer relationships with local youth sports programs. Duesing, elected in 2001, currently serves as board president.
