Incumbent trustees ousted in Oak Brook

Two new faces and a familiar former leader will join the Oak Brook Village Board, ousting two incumbents whose re-election bids fell short.

Voters Tuesday chose Mark Moy and Elaine Zannis as well as former trustee Stelios Aktipis. With all precincts reporting, unofficial results show Moy earned 986 votes, Zannis secured 960 and Aktipis took 887 votes.

The village's two incumbents fell short. Jeffrey J. Kennedy and Robert Stanford, both seeking second terms, each brought in 806 votes.

Two additional challengers also fell short. Asif Yusuf, who also formerly served on the board and made a bid for the village president seat in 2007, earned 513 votes. Stanley Pruss, a board member with Butler Elementary District 53, brought in 739 votes.
