Grayslake incumbents prevail

Grayslake voters Tuesday stuck with three incumbents as trustees in the village board race. Trustees Bruce Bassett, Shawn Vogel and Amy Edwards kept the three available seats. Quin O'Brien was the lone challenger on the ballot.

With all 24 precincts counted, unofficial totals show Edwards with 2,184 votes, followed by Vogel at 2,046 and Bassett with 1,877. O'Brien was left out with 1,296 tallies.

Michael Francq was certified as a write-in candidate, but his vote totals were not immediately known.

Bassett, Vogel and Edwards touted the importance of continuity on the board because of the plethora of construction projects that are expected.
