Barclay will head Geneva Library

Geneva Library Board President Esther Barclay won election Tuesday to her second term, leading the way with 1,647 votes, according to unofficial results. Trustee David Creighton was also re-elected, with 1,339 votes.

They will be joined by Steven Andersson (1,478 votes) and Patricia Lord Johnson (1,312), defeating Lance Marcinkus (786 votes). There were three 4-year trustee terms available.

The four winners all agreed the library should continue to commit to downtown Geneva as the site of any new library it builds.

Lord decided to enter the race after Barclay commented on the lack of candidates from east of the Fox River. Lord has suggested the library offer off-site book drop service, and extending Sunday hours.
