CBOT traders plead not guilty to fraud charges

Two Chicago Board of Trade floor traders, accused by U.S. prosecutors of illicitly trading five- year treasury notes to gain more than $2 million at customer expense, told a federal judge they aren't guilty.

Edward Sarvey and David Sklena, indicted April 1 on charges of wire fraud, commodities fraud and non-competitive trading in breach of the Commodity Futures Act, entered their pleas today before U.S. District Judge Samuel Der-Yeghiayan in Chicago.

The case is U.S. v. Sarvey, 09cr302, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois (Chicago).
