Dist. 207 names new superintendent

The Maine Township District 207 school board Monday night named Dr. Ken Wallace to succeed retiring Superintendent Dr. Joel Morris on July 1. Wallace has served as the district's assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction since 2005. The appointment ends a three-month national search that drew more than 40 applicants. Wallace's contract comes with an annual salary of $195,000 and the potential to earn another $25,000 by meeting performance goals, the district said. Wallace, of Park Ridge, earned his Ph.D. from Indiana State University, and before working with District 207 was a high school principal and assistant superintendent in Indiana.
