2-year-old Orland Park girl's death ruled homicide

The death of a 2-year-old girl from Orland Park has been ruled a homicide.

The Cook County medical examiner's office ruled Monday that Bhia Hadid died of multiple trauma due to child abuse. Authorities say a relative found the girl unresponsive at her Orland Park home on Sunday evening.

Police say the girl was pronounced dead after paramedics took her to a nearby hospital.

Both Orland Park police and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services are investigating the death.
