Need open minds on library board

Reading Fence Post letters printed on March 31, I wonder where these folks were a couple years ago.

I was one of the residents who attended community meetings during the referendums and I personally was the one that released the e-mail from Ann Kennedy to the press. She was the one who agreed the library needed to "look more crowded" and ordered the staff to "make sure the collection is spread out." She actually requested the library to be closed and ordered the staff to assist in doing this.

Is this the type of "reliable and trustworthy" people we should have running the library? If Ms. Green wants to reference "scare tactics," then let's not forget those used by the people that are actually being taxpayer paid to run the library.

I would like to assure Ms. Tucek and the residents of Carol Stream that the challengers know very well "what they are talking about."

On March 9, 2004 the Daily Herald posted a recommendation to vote no for that referendum. At that time the added tax would have been about $240 a year almost doubling the tax amount for the library. The question was brought up again during the village board election and posted by the Herald on April 12.

Just because it isn't on the ballot this year don't think it isn't going to be put on again. The incumbents have demonstrated one thing; the time for a change is now. Vote Nos. 4, 5, 6 and 7 for the library board and get some people who will give us a well run library at a fair tax rate.

Joshua Jeffrey, Michael Wade, Dominick Jeffrey and David Derango will be fair and run the library with an open-minded direction that we are badly in need of.
