Driver suffers 'severe' injuries after Bartlett car crash
A man who smashed his car into a tree in Bartlett Friday morning was driving with a revoked license, police said.
Paramedics had to cut through the car's roof to extricate Ryan Stime, 24, of the 5N900 block of Kettlehook Court in St. Charles. He was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates with what police described as severe injuries.
Hospital officials released no information on Stime's condition.
Bartlett police Sgt. Michael McGuigan said Stime turned off Stearns Road and traveled north on Prospect Avenue when he lost control of his car at around 10 a.m. The 2000 Nissan Altima smashed into a tree near Ord Court.
While police continue to investigate the cause of the crash, they cited Stime with driving on a revoked license and driving too fast for conditions, McGuigan said, adding police ruled out alcohol as a cause.
