Disappointed in Herald endorsement

I was disappointed that the Daily Herald did not endorse Monte Bohacz for District 1 Trustee in Lombard.

Incumbent Greg Gron has done nothing for the District he represents. His promises of helping residents with flooding basements is too little too late. His record of inaction the last four years speaks for itself. The downtown area (which is in Mr. Gron's district) has had no support and residents are ready for leadership that makes a difference.

I have found Mr. Bohacz' vision and approach like a breath of fresh air. His desire for a rebirth of the downtown area and speaking out against wasteful government spending is refreshing.

His Web site www.voteformonte.com illustrates his firm belief that the Village should be working for its residents and not the other way around.

Unfortunately, the Daily Herald's endorsement got it wrong when it said Mr. Bohacz supports building a skate park downtown. Mr. Bohacz does support building a skate park in cooperation with the Lombard Park District but obviously not in the downtown area. A skate park would relieve the downtown area of skateboarders and give them a proper venue to enjoy.

Mr. Bohacz is what District 1 needs for change, a trustee who cares about the residents needs, listens to their concerns but, most importantly, follows through with action.
