A better leader for East Dundee
For me, this village election is about valuing and respecting our neighborhoods. We appreciate our neighbors even if we differ with them and if there is a problem, we work it out. I haven't seen much of that since Dan O'Leary became president in East Dundee.
I will vote for Jerry Bartels, because he's upright, honest, and sincere in his desire to take the village in a more honorable, yet forward-looking direction, than our sitting president and board.
He echoes my belief in the integrity of the people who elect our village government. I will vote for Kathy Kalish because she is exceedingly intelligent and has made it her business to be thoroughly informed on the workings of East Dundee's government.
Also, she's a good soul. Last, but not least, I'm writing in Patrick Clarke. He's a smart guy whose professional life as a paramedic/firefighter transcends into private life as a neighbor. He is a man who can look beyond himself, leave his ego at home and fight for our village and treat the job of board member as a sacred duty.
