Bensenville man dies after vehicle rear ends semi-trailer

A 45-year-old man was killed Thursday when his vehicle rear-ended a semi-trailer truck near O'Hare International Airport, Cook County Medical Examiner officials said.

Cary Shapiro of Bensenville was westbound on West Irving Park Road around 3:15 p.m. when he ran into the back of the trailer, officials said.

Shapiro was taken from the scene of the accident to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
