Library candidates with experience
Library candidates with I am writing this letter to support Tom Arends, Rob Douglas, Mary Hudspeath and Leslie Shambo, the incumbent candidates running for the Carol Stream Public Library board of trustees. I know and respect each of these individuals for their prior service and dedication to the town of Carol Stream and its library. A great library is a necessity for the community, and we want to continue to have a first-rate facility. Keeping an open mind about future options and possibilities for the library is a trait I look for in my board members. I want to know they are willing to put in the work needed to keep my library running as fiscally sound as possible, while providing Carol Stream residents with the books, movies, programs, technology and services they deserve. In order for our library to be first rate, we need to elect board members who are highly qualified for the position, knowledgeable, and experienced. In reviewing all of the candidates positions on the issues affecting our library and community, it is clear that Arends, Douglas, Hudspeath and Shambo are the most highly qualified candidates. To learn more about the candidates I suggest reading the Daily Herald's candidate profiles, which can be accessed online at dailyherald.com. I'd also like to publicly thank these board members for their selfless volunteering on behalf of the residents of Carol Stream. We are a better community because of you, and therefore I will be voting Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 8 on April 7.
