Richardson not listening to Lake Barrington residents

It is hard to believe (Kevin) Richardson and his followers want to preserve our rural environment. What are they thinking (or not thinking) by approving structures that do not integrate into the countryside/residential feel, and to favor an off-track betting parlor?

While a sports facility is good, we didn't want an overly obtrusive building that violates our surroundings. Richardson has not learned from that lesson, which is still in debate without resolution.

The OTB issue would bail out the Kelsey Road House at the expense of the residents by encouraging adverse social costs (increased crime, drunken driving and habitual gambling).

We know Richardson wants tax revenue, but how can it outweigh the costs to taxpayers who have stated no?

OTB should not be in the Barrington area! Hundreds have voiced their disapproval of an OTB. However, those who have been appointed into chair positions (like the plan commission and zoning board of appeals) by the Village President have lost their sight and hearing on the concerns that residents have opposed, which even contradict the village's comprehensive plan.

Instead they follow the predestined direction given by the president. And yes, he gives orders. At two meetings called to discuss the OTB, President Richardson and his cronies were not present. Current Trustees Vonder Haar, DeJesu and Trustee Candidate Suarez were concerned enough to attend and engage with residents' concerns ... and continue to be. Richardson has not. This demonstrates who is right for our leadership offices.
