Inverness needs change; vote Staten-Robinson

It seems as though your Editorial Board hasn't interviewed an incumbent who wasn't endorsed. Review of the candidate survey, followed by a brief interview, provides the necessary information for your endorsements. This may be true in a majority of races, but definitely not in your endorsement of the incumbent Inverness Village President race.

You are correct in stating the "biggest initiative in years is looming ... brand-new police force" and also correct in that it's the biggest expenditure, with diminished service. Example: During the recent flooding across Palatine Road, there were police cars at Ela and Poteet roads. With our new police coverage, this would leave no police backup to respond elsewhere in the Village.

Now comes the "major" roadwork program that could have been avoided with a conscientious, ongoing road program. The drainage issues are not even mentioned.

There are many who feel a fresh, new face, with no political experience, is exactly what is needed. Nanci Staten Robinson is bright, has done her homework and brings skills from her corporate background, as well as many charitable organizations.

If there is any skepticism, it is based on the lack of communication that Jack Tatooles feels is not necessary in a home-rule community. Attendees are not made to feel welcome for simply stating an opinion to three trustees - after a board meeting was adjourned.

Twelve years ago Jack Tatooles ran on "change" and (that) eight years of the previous administration was enough! Maybe there is still hope for Inverness residents to survive this quagmire of "absolute rule by dictator Jack Tatooles."

In his recent letter, he stated this is a very important election. He's right, indeed it is! Every Inverness resident should take the time to vote to take their Village back. Your vote for Nanci Staten Robinson will do just that - return our Village to the residents!
