Accident hurts two, closes Weber Road in Romeoville

Fire and police officials remain on the scene of a head-on accident that closed portions of Weber Road in Romeoville early Tuesday.

Police officials said at least two people were injured in the head-on accident that closed the intersection at about 5 a.m. Tuesday.

The drivers of the two cars needed to be extracted from their automobiles, police said, and have been transported to area hospitals. Officials could not give details of the accident until after the scene is investigated and cleared, but that the intersection should be reopened no later than 7:30 a.m.
