Streamwood High

• The book fair will be Tuesday through Thursday during school hours in the Streamwood High School library.

Ellis

• On Friday, the Spring Dance will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Ellis Middle School cafeteria.

Bartlett

• On Wednesday, parents of Bartlett Elementary fifth-graders will view a presentation called "Life Begins," presented by the Robert Crown Center for Health Education, at 7 p.m.

Glenbrook

• On Thursday, kindergarten registration will take place at 6 p.m. at Glenbrook Elementary School, 315 Garden Circle in Streamwood. For details, call (630) 213-5555.

Hillcrest

• On Thursday, kindergarten registration will take place at 5 p.m. at Hillcrest Elementary School, 80 N. Airlite St. in Elgin. For details, call (847) 888-5282.

Horizon

• On Friday, the PTO will sponsor Family Bingo Night at 7 p.m. at Tefft Middle School for families of Horizon Elementary School students.

Huff

• On Mondays and Wednesdays, April 1 to June 8, an Introduction to Violin will be available from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. as part of the ELL After School Enrichment Program at Huff Elementary School. Students will learn the language of music as they are introduced to the violin in a group setting. Instruments and instructional materials will be provided. Illinois Park

• On Fridays, with the exception of April 10, Illinois Park Early Learning Center will host a Parents as Teachers drop-in play group for children ages 5 and younger from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the school, 1350 Wing St. in Elgin.

Independence

• On Thursdays, Independence School will host a Parents as Teachers drop-in play group for children ages 5 and younger from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The school is at 200 Taylor St. in Bartlett.

McKinley

• On Thursdays, McKinley Elementary School will host a Parents as Teachers drop-in play group for children ages 5 and younger from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The school is at 258 Lovell St. in Elgin.

Otter Creek

• On Thursday, kindergarten registration will take place at 5:30 p.m. at Otter Creek Elementary School, 2701 Hopps Road in Elgin. For details, call (847) 888-6995.

Spring Trail

• On Wednesday, kindergarten registration will take place at 9 a.m. at Spring Trail Elementary School, 1384 Spring Valley Drive in Carol Stream. For details, call (630) 213-6230.

• On Friday, a Fun Fair will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the school.

Sycamore Trails

• On Thursday, kindergarten registration will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Sycamore Trails Elementary School, 1025 Sycamore Lane in Bartlett. For details, call (630) 213-5641.

Timber Trails

• On Wednesday, the Elgin Symphony Orchestra's Percussion Trio will perform at 12:45 and 1:35 p.m. at Timber Trails Elementary School. The program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council.

Washington

• On Thursday, Washington Elementary students are invited to participate in an all-school Book Swap from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

• On Saturday, the PTA will sponsor a family movie day at 10 a.m. at the Fox Theater in Elgin. Tickets will be sold at a discounted price.
