Police monitoring intersection

Naperville police have issued more than 850 tickets in areas surrounding 75th and Washington streets since major construction started at the intersection on March 2. Police say they will continue to monitor the area and work with residents to strictly enforce traffic laws to enhance the safety of motorists and pedestrians. Motorists are advised to obey the construction zone speed limits for their safety and the safety of workers. A violation of the construction zone speed limit will result in a minimum fine of $375.

Riverwalk seeks volunteers

Naperville is seeking volunteers to fill an open position on its Riverwalk Commission. The group normally meets at 7:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of the month and works to promote, encourage and guide the development and use of the downtown path. Interested residents should visit www.naperville.il.us/boards.aspx to download and review an application form.

Lullaby Ball fundraiser

Teen Parent Connection will hold their annual Lullaby Ball fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. April 24 at The Ashton Place in Willowbrook. The event will include both a silent auction and raffle. This year's entertainment is Random Axe and Dick Johnson of NBC5 will serve as master of ceremonies. All proceeds will benefit the organization's programs and services, which target adolescent parents and pregnancy prevention education. Auction items include a behind the scenes tour of the Kathy & Judy show, Chicago sports tickets, weekend stays in Chicago, restaurant gift certificates and more.
