Donate diapers, paper goods for Kiwanis Club's drives
The Kiwanis Club of Elgin is conducting a diaper/paper goods drive through Friday, April 3.
The diaper drive is part of the club's participation in Kiwanis International's Young Children Priority One Project and will distribute packages of diapers to the Community Crisis Center, Well Child Center, Easter Seals DuPage and Fox Valley Region's Jayne Shover Center, Elgin Daycare Center, and local food pantries.
Diapers for sizes 3, 4, and 5 are especially needed, as children from stressed households often take more time to toilet-train.
Paper goods (such as toilet paper, tissues, napkins, and paper towels) will be distributed to local food pantries. Food stamps and other aid programs often do not cover paper goods.
The distribution to the agencies for both drives will be Saturday, April 4, as a combined project for the club's One Day Project for Kiwanis International.
Drop-off locations are First Community Bank at Tyler Creek Plaza, McLean Boulevard and Big Timber Road, and the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce office, 31 S. Grove Ave., during regular business hours.
