This cure is worse than the disease

As George Washington laid prostrate at Mt. Vernon from an illness which may have run its course, he encountered an enemy more potent than any other, his own physician. It was commonly believed at the time there was "good" and "bad" blood and all that was needed was to eliminate the bad. Bleeding, intentional laceration and the resulting loss of blood, far from helping the patient, usually killed them. Washington died.

Since the 2008 election, the market has fallen 2,000 points, dipping under 7,000 for the first time since 1997. The deficit will quadruple. We are circling a swirl of debt that is about to suck us under and skillful rhetoric will not save us.

The United States is the patient and bailouts, $2 trillion dollar deficits and the impending tsunami of taxation are the prescription. This budget must be turned back and our forced march to socialism-lite must end. The bleeding must stop, now, or the patient will not survive.
