Great news is he's not my mayor

A few had unpleasant experiences in dealing with Major Broda and his city government. Lisle had annexed property adjacent to me for a proposed Inland subdivision known as Radcliff Ridge. Virtually all the residents of Radcliff showed up in numbers and loud voices to oppose this development, only to find a deaf ear from Broda. It was a giant charade of a city government going through the motions of caring. The project included building a 600-foot-long downhill road dead-ending at our master bedroom. Broda and Inland found nothing wrong with this concept at all. They also found nothing wrong with building homes on 10,000-square-foot lots next to existing lots of more than 40,000 square feet. It was only after visiting with a Naperville city engineer that Broda became lucid over our safety concerns. Inland reluctantly agreed to follow some of the aperville engineers' suggestions, and commented it was a mistake not to do a normal cul-de-sac. Mayor Broda is mayor of The Arboretum Village, right? Almost every one of nearly 900 trees were clear cut to a scorched- earthlike look. Many of these trees were 50 to 100 years old. I have photos for anyone interested. Most cities would have required an outside tree expert to identify trees that would be in the footprint of homes or streets, but not Mayor Broda. he created a number of angry people on Radcliff Road. He could have championed a few reasonable requests from concerned folks living in a countrylike setting, but instead sold out to the needs of a few greedy people. The bad news is I can't vote for his opposition but the great news is he's not my mayor.
