Abortion - legal or not - is murder

Is abortion murder or elective surgery? Reflecting on some of Cal Thomas's thoughts in a recent Fence Post I have a question. In the case of the 2007 murder of Rhoni Reuter and her unborn child, deemed a double murder, why is it legal to surgically terminate the life of an unborn child but illegal to use a handgun to do the same.

This simply makes no sense to me. Common sense tells you it cannot be both legal and illegal.

In our heart of hearts I think we all know the answer to that question. Abortion is murder. When will lawmakers realize this and take action?
