M/I Homes is here to stay
M/I Homes is planning to become more of a Chicagoland fixture. At a time when other local or national builders have pulled out, closed their doors or simply stopped building, M/I continues to expand on its strong Midwestern roots. Less than a year after opening Meadows Edge at Highland Woods in Elgin, they've opened their second community - this time Shelburne Crossing in west suburban Winfield.
"We have been excited about the opportunity to be part of the continued growth in Winfield for some time. Having the support and resources of a public company, coupled with our local knowledge of what it takes to succeed in the Chicagoland market, has been great. Since we're headquartered in the Midwest, we see Winfield and Shelburne Crossing as a natural progression of our growth," says Ron Martin, area president, Chicago Division.
Shelburne Crossing is located in beautiful suburban Winfield, within walking distance of the Metra. The community is surrounded by nature with forests, creeks and prairie paths. Canoeing and fishing are just minutes away. Quaint shops, great restaurants and a dozen golf courses are also close by. When it's time to enjoy a day full of all that city life has to offer, it's a quick commute by train.
"Winfield's charm and convenient location offer just the lifestyle balance both young professionals and empty nesters are looking for," Martin said.
These traditionally designed brick townhouses, reminiscent of Old Town or Lincoln Park, offer 1,995 to 2,135 square feet of living space and are expected to start in the low 200's, with two to three bedrooms, two baths and two-car garage.
Located at 27 W 753 S. Meadowview in Winfield, the sales office hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays-Wednesdays; noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and by appointment on Thursdays and Fridays. For more information, call (630) 405-4982 or visit mihomes.com.

The scenic master-planned community features 196 acres devoted to parks, preserved wetlands and lavishly landscaped green space. Highland Woods offers semi-custom single-family homes starting from $279,990 and is carefully situated among 12 neighborhoods within the community.
Recreational amenities include an Owners Club that consists of a clubhouse complex on six acres. The complex includes an adult lap pool, a children's splash pool with a triple-loop water slide, a state-of-the-art fitness center with treadmills, free weights, elliptical trainers, weight machines, visible child activity area and locker and shower area.
Other features include competition-quality tennis courts, basketball and sand volleyball courts, seven parks and playgrounds, over five miles of nature trails and jogging paths, an upscale masonry entry and gatehouse as well as monument entries for the neighborhoods.

Hwy. 90 (Northwest Tollway) and Metra train service as well as the extensive shopping, services, restaurants and entertainment along the bustling Randall Road corridor.
