4 local women's basketball players make national list
DePaul's Deirdre Naughton and Natasha Williams, along with Illinois State's Kristi Cirone and Purdue's Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton are among the 40 finalists for the 2009 State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team.
The finalists, who are voted upon by Women's Basketball Coaches Association members in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions, are now in the running for selection to the 10-member State Farm Coaches' All-America Team.
Naughton, who was named to the Wade Watch List Jan. 21, led the Blue Demons with 15.5 points per game. Williams set a school-record with her .620 (191-for-308) field goal percentage during her senior campaign. Cirone, a graduate of Resurrection High School, was her team's MVP for the third straight season. Wisdom-Hylton, a graduate of Neuqua Valley High School and Purdue all-time leading rebounder, has helped her team advance in the NCAA Tournament.
